Four important buildings and locations around the world that use Automatic Systems equipment.

In this article, we bring you four important buildings and locations around the world that use Automatic Systems equipment for pedestrian access control.

WILLIS TOWER
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ESTADOS UNIDOS.

The Willis Tower is a 1,500-foot skyscraper that for 20 years held the title of the tallest building in the world. Today, it is the second tallest building in the United States, surpassed only by One World Trade Center in New York.

In 2016, it was decided to remodel the pedestrian access control systems to automate the entry and exit of the 15,000 people who pass through the building's lobby daily and to create a new aesthetic ambiance that would complement the restaurants, spas, and gyms that were to open. The installed equipment consisted of SlimLane automated walkways in a version specially designed for the client. The equipment and the swing doors are black. With future modifications in mind, the client required that the equipment be compatible with new biometric or palm-reading access control technologies, a requirement met by the installed equipment. “I can’t emphasize enough how much Willis Tower trusts in the partnership that we’ve formed with Automatic Systems. They were definitely the right choice for us and delivered everything we needed, from both a security and aesthetics standpoint.” ~ Gary Michon, General Manager, Willis Tower

EDIFICIO TWO DRYDOCK
BOSTON, MASACHUSETTS, ESTADOS UNIDOS.

The Two Drydock building, located in one of Boston's most important industrial areas, is a blend of industrial tradition and the new, innovative, and creative culture that has taken root in the area. The thirteen-story building is dedicated to both retail and office space. The top floor features a terrace and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

The main challenge was ensuring that tenants, owners, and visitors could move easily throughout the building without requiring extensive equipment, while maintaining high safety standards. To achieve this, SlimLane EPR automated walkways were installed.

SIGNET chose the Automatic Systems SlimLane EPR (Extended Post Rounded) swing door barrier optical turnstile due to both its incredible aesthetic appeal and the degree of responsiveness and customization it offered. This, combined with its UL listings and warranty, made it the obvious choice.~  Jason Bianco,  Integrator, Signet

JD GYMS
BIRMINGHAM, REINO UNIDO.

JD Gyms is a widespread, low-cost gym chain in the UK, with over 50 locations nationwide. This chain has a long history of working with Automatic Systems equipment. First Lane and SmartLane automated walkways have been installed in its locations. These two products were chosen because they met the safety requirements, aligned with the architectural design of the gyms, and were consistent with the brand's corporate identity. The aim is to replicate the use of these automated walkways in all gym locations.

“Using this product for JD Gyms gives Omega Security and our client confidence that it is robust and reliable for many years to come.” Richard Ward Omega Security (Integrator)

LIFEWAY
Nashville, Tennessee, Estados Unidos.

LifeWay Christian Stores is a company dedicated to the sale of Christian Bible products. A few years ago, they opened a new headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. The building required an access control system to manage the entry and exit of their 1,100 employees and the more than 15,000 visitors they receive annually, while also creating a warmer and more welcoming atmosphere. To meet these challenges, they installed SlimLane EPR series automated turnstiles from Automatic Systems.

“Based on our previous experience with Automatic Systems, we were confident in their performance capabilities. The finished product is perfect for LifeWay’s needs—it’s the kind of building that makes people say ‘WOW’—and the design of the SlimLane EPR optical turnstiles is beautiful.”~Randy Mann, President, CEO at LifeWay
