TransMilenio—Turnstiles and Security Corridors

Incomelec's technology continues to gain ground in Colombia, this time in Bogotá where turnstiles and security walkways were installed to control pedestrian access to the TransMilenio system, specifically at the Santa Luca station. This is to prevent fare evasion by users of the mass transit system.

This system consists of:

  1. Floor-to-ceiling turnstiles

  • A TGH 810 motorized walkway with a double line of detection strips. This is a detection system with intersecting LED beams that generate an LED beam every 2.3 centimeters, allowing for precise tracking of individuals from entry to exit.

You can learn more through: “Transmilenio launched a pilot program for ‘giant turnstiles’ to prevent fare evasion”

  • A specialized corridor designed to prevent fraud, capable of identifying whether a person is alone, with a suitcase, is a couple, or is in a wheelchair, to obtain statistics.
