The El Dorado Airport of Bogotá, handles an average of 150,000 passengers daily, which adds up to approximately 32,500,000 passengers annually, distributed between domestic and international flights.
The security levels at El Dorado Airport meet all international standards, and new projects are continuously being developed and implemented to improve passenger and airport security in the short and medium term. In addition to implementing the BioMig System in emigration and the BioMig System in international passenger immigration, and the pre-security gates in the domestic and international terminals, Incomelec installed and implemented the first non-return door system in Colombia. This was in the domestic terminal of El Dorado Airport.
These one-way doors are designed to direct passengers in a single direction. When a passenger passes through the first door and attempts to turn around, the system and sensors will automatically work together to prevent any unauthorized return to the secure areas.
The non-return gates installed are FlipFlow from the Swiss brand Record.
These doors provide greater security and control between the airside and baggage claim areas, preventing people from returning to the airside. They also control the flow of people between the airside and landside areas. Learn how these one-way doors work by watching the following video:
