QBO Building—SlimLane 940 Automated Walkways
The QBO Building controls pedestrian and visitor access with automated walkways from Automatic Systems, supplied by Incomelec.
The QBO Building is one of the most iconic and imposing buildings in Parque de la 93. It has 10,000 m² of constructed area, 7 floors and 3 basements, 141 parking spaces, 1,500 m² of retail space, and 3,500 m² of office space.
The construction company behind this building shares the same name, QBO, and has developed significant projects in Bogotá and Medellín, including the Atrio Towers and the Rivana Building. All of their projects are characterized by a blend of creativity, urban planning, and design, positioning them as one of the most emblematic and important construction companies in Colombia.
Because the QBO Building is located in such a strategic and business-oriented area, it requires high security standards that in no way compromise the architecture and elegance of the site. Another key challenge is that several multinational companies have their headquarters in the building, and many of the retail spaces it houses experience high foot and vehicle traffic.
It is estimated that this building receives more than 500 people daily, and for pedestrian access control, Incomelec conducted a needs assessment and determined that the appropriate solution was:
Two Automatic Systems Slimlane access control walkways.
Integrated with the Keyscan System VII access control system, which allows or denies entry and exit via RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) cards.
One walkway of standard width and another of accessible width to ensure inclusive and mixed-use access for all users.
This project was received with satisfaction by the client. Below, we share photos of the result:
