Medellín Chamber of Commerce—K31 Series Revolving Doors
In 2018, the Medellín Chamber of Commerce inaugurated its new service center, located in the El Poblado neighborhood of Medellín. It is a modern building with over 22,841 square meters and seven floors. Five floors are exclusively for the Chamber of Commerce, while the other two are available for outsourcing to other companies. The building has been described as a horizontal tower, creating a measured urban scale that allows natural light to reach all areas. Constructed according to LEED certification standards, the building's materials and systems prioritize climate efficiency, reducing the environmental impact of both the construction and its subsequent use.
With the opening of this new location, the two former Chamber of Commerce offices in San Fernando and Ciudad del Río were closed. All customer traffic was then consolidated at the modern El Poblado facility.
The client required access control equipment that met two key requirements.
First, they had to match the lobby's architectural style and design code. Second, they had to help maintain the temperature. The equipment needed to be robust and effectively control the entry and exit of employees and visitors. With these requirements in mind, the installed solution was two Record Global K31 series revolving doors.
The Record K31 series revolving doors are the result of years of continuous research. The three door leaves ensure the quick and safe entry and exit of pedestrians. Their design and engineering allow for temperature control, as they act as a barrier that prevents the entry and exit of air currents that can cause temperature fluctuations. This generates savings in operating costs and reduces air conditioning consumption, guaranteeing the building's climate efficiency.
Their three-leaf design can be painted in any color requested by the client and adapted to the aesthetics of any space. The 120° compartments offer a pleasant pedestrian experience with smooth, quiet, and safe operation.
The Record K31 revolving door is a three-leaf revolving door, available with an optional display window (for diameters greater than 3100 mm), featuring a night shutter function and evacuation routes. It is available in two configurations: a ceiling-mounted unit or a concealed drive system beneath the floor. Finishes are available in RAL colors or anodized in any color according to customer requirements, or in clear glass for a transparent aesthetic.
